Founded in 2022, WILD was developed collaboratively by Madrona Marsh and Torrance Art Museum.

The residency program invites contemporary artists with an environmental focus to interact with the Madrona Marsh Preserve, its Scientists, Researchers, Students, and the Public for a period of one month, during which the resident artist will research, develop, and build a site specific work of public art to be presented on the grounds around the preserve for an exhibiting period of four months.

An integral part of the project is its non-institutional setting and environmental footprint.

Distinguishing this project is the essential linkage between the preserve and the art.

The program is made possible thanks to the support of Torrance Art Museum Advocates, Friends of Madrona Marsh, and the City of Torrance
