What does LA 2022 look like? The city reflects its diversity in many ways. Beach life is one. Hollywood is another. The inner city areas of Boyle Heights, Compton and downtown LA reflect a different viewpoint.
The photographers group, The LA 6, began a series of pop-up photographic exhibitions and interventions which recorded the hidden world of inner city Los Angeles. Out of those projects this exhibition was formed, with other artists invited to participate and extend the dialogue about this aspect of the city.
How are artists responding to this reality? A reality that engages with the soul of the city, which tries to see under the glitter, to recognize its own. This exhibition is an expansive collection of ways of seeing this Los Angeles of ours.
